Advanced Phone Repair | Motherboard Repair, Water Damage & Data Recovery
For standard screen and battery replacements, please see our phone repair page. If another shop has told you your phone is "unrepairable" or "needs a new motherboard", or the problem is more complicated, we are happy to take a second look.
Common Advanced Phone Problems
- Phone motherboard repair — Won't power on, boot loops (stuck on the Apple logo), no signal or Wi-Fi won't turn on. These issues are often related to components on the motherboard. Our technicians will inspect the phone first before confirming whether it can be repaired.
- Water-damaged phone recovery — Dropped in water, caught in the rain or splashed in the shower. The faster a water-damaged phone is treated, the better the chance of saving it.
- Data recovery from dead phones — If your phone won't turn on or the screen is too damaged to use, but you need your photos, WhatsApp chats or work files, we will try to restore the device so you can back up your data, depending on the extent of the damage.
- Charging port issues — Only charges at a certain angle, charging keeps cutting out, or your computer can't detect the phone. The port may be clogged with dust or damaged.
- Camera and lens problems — Cracked lens glass, blurry photos, camera won't focus, black screen or shaking image when opening the camera.
- Earpiece, speaker and microphone — Can't hear callers, callers can't hear you, or the speaker sounds distorted.
- Android phone repair — We have experience repairing Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo, Google Pixel and other brands. Parts for some models may need to be ordered in advance.
What Should You Do If Your Phone Gets Wet?
- Turn it off immediately. Do not try to switch it back on and do not charge it
- Remove the case and SIM tray if possible
- Gently wipe the surface dry with a towel. Do not shake the phone, as this may push water into other areas
- Do not use a hair dryer on hot air or bury the phone in rice. These methods may not work and can delay proper treatment
- Bring it to a repair shop as soon as possible for disassembly, cleaning and inspection, especially if it was exposed to drinks, seawater or pool water, which speed up corrosion
Advanced iPad Repair | Swollen Battery, Not Charging, Won't Turn On
Besides standard iPad screen and battery replacements (see iPad & tablet repair), we also handle more difficult problems on iPads and other tablets. Many issues that appear after a few years of use don't mean you need to buy a new iPad.
Common Advanced iPad Problems
- Swollen iPad battery — The edge of the screen is lifting, there is a gap in the casing, or the display is bulging. These are typical signs of a swollen battery. Stop using and charging the iPad immediately and bring it in for repair.
- iPad not charging / charging slowly — This may be caused by a dusty or damaged charging port, or a fault in the battery or charging IC.
- iPad won't turn on / stuck on the logo — Stuck on the Apple logo or restarting repeatedly. It could be a software or hardware issue, and our technicians will help identify which.
- Touch not working / ghost touches — Some areas don't respond or the screen registers touches by itself, common after a drop or when the outer glass is cracked.
- Buttons and headphone jack — Home button, power button or volume buttons not working, or no sound through the headphone jack.
- iPads dropped by kids — Cracked glass is very common on iPads used by children for online classes or videos. We can also recommend suitable protective cases and screen protectors.
If the problem is related to the system, device locks or failed updates, see our software services.
Apple Watch Repair | Screen Replacement, Battery Replacement & Water Damage
Apple Watch repair is in growing demand. Although the Apple Watch is small, it is precisely engineered. Once it has been dropped or exposed to water, DIY repair is almost impossible. It needs an experienced technician with professional tools.
Common Apple Watch Repairs
- Apple Watch cracked glass / screen replacement — Shattered glass after a drop, black spots on the display or unresponsive touch requires a full screen assembly replacement.
- Apple Watch battery replacement — If the battery runs out by the afternoon or drops to 0% soon after charging, it is usually a sign of battery ageing.
- Apple Watch water damage — Although the Apple Watch is water-resistant, its seals deteriorate over years of use, so water can get in while swimming or showering.
- Apple Watch won't turn on / won't charge — No response on the charger or a completely black screen may indicate a battery or logic board problem.
- Stuck Digital Crown / unresponsive buttons — If the Digital Crown won't turn or the side button won't press, dust may have entered or a part may be damaged.
We repair Apple Watch models from Series 1 to the latest generation. Not sure which model you have? Send us a photo on WhatsApp and our technician will confirm the model and give you an initial quote.

How to Enquire | Send a Photo on WhatsApp for a Quick Assessment
"Other repairs" covers a wide range of products and problems, and each device differs in structure and parts availability. We recommend contacting us by WhatsApp or phone first so our technician can make an initial assessment.
- 1. Send photos and model details on WhatsApp — Send us your device model and a description of the problem (e.g. iPhone won't turn on after water damage, swollen iPad battery, cracked Apple Watch Series 6 glass), along with photos of the fault if needed.
- 2. Initial assessment — Based on the information provided, our technician will assess whether the device can be repaired and estimate the time required. Parts for some rare devices may need to be ordered, and we will tell you honestly.
- 3. In-store inspection and quotation — Once confirmed, bring your device to Shop G81B, Sin Tat Plaza, Mong Kok. Our technician will inspect it in person and provide a formal quote. For water-damaged devices, please come to the shop straight away.
- 4. Repair and testing — Once you accept the quote, we start the repair. After completion, we run a full test and only return the device once everything works properly.
- 5. Warranty and follow-up — Repairs come with a warranty period. If you have any issues, bring your receipt back for follow-up.
Which Electronics Are Worth Repairing? When Should You Buy New?
Not every broken device is worth repairing. Sometimes the repair cost may be close to, or even more than, the price of a new one. The following points can help you decide:
When It's Worth Repairing
- The device works fine overall and only one part is broken (e.g. a phone with a faulty charging port, or an Apple Watch with cracked glass)
- The repair cost is clearly lower than buying new
- The device holds important photos, chat history or settings that haven't been backed up
- The product is discontinued and you can't buy the same model new
- It has sentimental value
When It May Not Be Worth Repairing
- The repair cost is close to or exceeds the price of the same model new
- The device is too old, no longer receives system updates and can't keep up with daily use
- Multiple components are damaged, so fixing one may be followed by another failure
- The motherboard is severely burnt or corroded and the success rate is very low (though you can still consult us if you only want to recover data)
If you're not sure, the most practical option is to bring it in. After inspection, our technician will tell you honestly whether it's worth repairing, and we will never push you into a repair just to charge a fee.
Other Repairs: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1: Can a water-damaged phone still be saved?
In many cases, yes. The key is how quickly it is treated. Turn the phone off immediately, do not charge it, and bring it in as soon as possible for disassembly, cleaning and inspection. The longer you wait, the more the components corrode and the lower the chance of recovery.
Q2: My phone won't turn on at all. Can I get my photos and data back?
It depends on the extent of the damage. If only some motherboard components are damaged, it may be possible to restore the phone enough to power on so you can back up your data. After inspection, our technician will explain the chance of success before you decide whether to proceed.
Q3: My iPad screen is bulging. Is it a swollen battery?
Very likely. A swollen battery pushes the screen up, and continuing to use or charge the iPad poses a safety risk. Stop using and charging it immediately, and bring it in for a battery replacement and a check for screen damage.
Q4: How much does it cost to replace a cracked Apple Watch screen?
It depends on the model. Apple Watch glass and screen replacement costs vary by series and size. Send us your model and a photo on WhatsApp and our technician will give you a quote right away.
Q5: Do you repair Android phones and Android tablets?
Yes. We have experience repairing Android phones from Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO and other brands, as well as Android tablets such as Samsung Galaxy Tab, Huawei MatePad and Lenovo Tab. We handle screen replacements, battery replacements, charging problems and more. As there are many Android models, parts for some may need to be ordered, so please enquire first.
Q6: I have a very old phone or electronic device. Will you still take it?
Yes. Our approach is "inspect first, assess first". Even for discontinued products, if repair is worthwhile and feasible, we are happy to try. In the worst case, if it really can't be fixed, we will tell you honestly and won't charge you unfairly.
Q7: Is there a warranty for other electronics repairs?
Yes. Just like our phone repairs, other electronics repairs come with a warranty period. Warranty details are printed on your receipt. If you have any issues, simply bring your receipt back for follow-up.
